Medea

This play is an adaptation of the tragedy of "Medea" by Euripides in which the storyline, the inner feelings of the characters and even the inner tempo of the scenes are transferred through music, song and dancing of the actors. This performance provided the ground for iranization a classic tragedy through associating the Iranian southern songs and Jerzy Grotowski’s laboratory theatre and other inheritors of his style. In this approach to theatre, costume design becomes a component for covering the player more than anything else since the focus of the performance is on the actor’s expression and body. To this end, the costume was designed by using visual components and limited colors and in accordance with the historical context of Euripides’ play and the social status of each character.
